About the Project

 Safeguarding Childhood in Urban Transit Spaces is CINI's child protection programme focused on identifying, rescuing, and restoring children at risk in Kolkata's urban transit spaces railway stations, bus terminals, and other high-footfall public spaces where children are vulnerable to exploitation, trafficking, abuse, and neglect. The programme works through direct rescue operations, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) production, family restoration, and stakeholder sensitisation building a protective ecosystem around some of Kolkata's most vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities, Qualifications & Experience
Category Key Details
Rescue Team Leadership Lead rescue teams, assign duties, provide training, and manage resources and logistics.
Child Protection Oversee rescue documentation, legal paperwork, CWC production, and child restoration, including interstate travel.
Awareness & Stakeholders Conduct awareness and sensitisation programmes and coordinate with police, CWC, government bodies and NGOs.
Documentation & Finance Prepare reports, track budgets and accounts, manage purchases and monitor project materials.
Education Postgraduate degree in a relevant field; MSW, Sociology or Social Science preferred.
Experience Minimum 2 years in the development sector. Child protection, rescue or CWC experience is an advantage.
Skills Bengali and English mandatory; Hindi preferred. Knowledge of Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Other Requirements Good communication skills and willingness to travel, including for child restoration.
