Key Responsibilities & Qualifications & Experience

Key Responsibilities

Community & School Engagement

Conduct surveys and research activities related to the education programme from time to time.
Encourage the community in the school development process engaging parents, community leaders, and School Management Committee (SMC) members.
Build cordial, trust-based relationships with school authorities and SMC members.
Conduct home visits and follow-up services to ensure continued student engagement and retention.

Educational Assessment & Intervention

Conduct Special Educational Assessments to understand individual student learning levels.
Design and manage educational interventions tailored to student needs in assigned schools.
Apply knowledge of inclusive pedagogy and differentiated instruction to address diverse learning requirements.

Guidance, Counselling & Life Skills

Provide educational guidance and counselling support to students in grades 6–12.
Facilitate life skills education sessions to build confidence, decision-making, and future readiness.
Support career guidance activities to help students explore their options and plan their futures.

Training & Capacity Building

Organise and conduct training programmes for teachers, SMC members, and community stakeholders.
Provide recommendations and support distribution of Teaching Learning Materials (TLM).
Support referral of students with special needs or learning challenges to appropriate support systems.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate record keeping and documentation of all programme activities, assessments, and interventions.
Prepare field reports and progress updates as per programme requirements.
Perform any other activities assigned by the Project Coordinator from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Master's or Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
Background in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline preferred.

Experience

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience working in educational projects preferably in school education, remedial teaching, or community education programmes.

Skills Required

Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong liaison and networking skills ability to build relationships with school authorities, SMC members, and community stakeholders.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong written and verbal communication in English ability to interact with multicultural teams.
Knowledge of inclusive pedagogy and differentiated instruction mandatory for this role.
Ability to analyse complex learning challenges and craft practical, actionable solutions.
Empathetic and compassionate attitude genuinely sensitive to the needs of children from marginalised tea garden communities.
Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with close attention to detail.
